King of Harts

why yes, I am a BAMF!!

Had to drag this photo out after The King’s amazing 30th win last night, making it his 7th straight season of 30+ wins since he started in the NHL, which is an NHL record.  Oh, and it was also his 8th shutout, the 5th in his last 14 starts.  That’s INSANE.

Read this awesome article about WHY he should win the Hart Trophy (remember back to the Valentine’s Day post, kids?) this year, as well as the Vezina:  Bleacher Report – Trophy Watch.

This explains us.

Vinny is out indefinitely with a broken hand. It is showing in the teams inconsistent performance since he has been injured. Other factors I believe are related to the recent trades of Kubina and Downie. I understand the reasoning of trying to build a Stanley Cup winning team but what about the chance we have this year? We are barely holding to the small hope we have for this year. I feel we are making trades that will not give us what we need. We need a goalie that can be that final line of defense consistently. Stamkos is putting up the goals and Marty has his hat tricks but if we can’t stop the other team from scoring what is it all for? Get it together Steve.

Get ready for more Goalie love…..’cause it’s….

This week’s choice is back to me. I’ve had a few requests via Facebook from some lovely ladies, and I will get to them, I swear, but Nikki and I have a few we need to get out of our systems first, so bear with us.

Which brings me back to my guy.  Now, if you follow the blog, you’ll know I’ve already given some megabytes to this goalie (sorry for another goalie, but I love those guys!), so this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. And since he plays for Montreal, I’ll get the translator to say….mon choix pour cette semaine est monsieur…..

Vitals: Born August 16, 1987, Anahim Lake, BC, Canada. 6’3″, 221lbs. Single, as far as I know.

Nickname(s): Jesus Price, Price is Right, Pricey.

Current team: Montreal Canadiens. Goaltender. Catches left.

Fancy awards: 2007 World Junior Championships (Canada) Gold.  2007, CHL Goaltender of the Year Award, & the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy (Calder Cup MVP) in CHL.  2008 NHL All-Rookie Team.  NHL All-Star 2009, 2011, 2012.

Cool trivia: His father, Jerry Price, was also a goaltender; he was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the eighth round, 126th overall in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. His mother, Lynda, is the former chief of the Ulkatcho First Nation.  Phoenix Coyotes’ captain Shane Doan and Keaton Ellerby of the Florida Panthers are second cousins of his. Carey was named as an honorary co-chair at the 2010 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships that were held in Ottawa, Ontario in May 2010. According to The Hockey News, “In warmer months, Price bops around his home province on the British Columbia Rodeo Association circuit taking part in the team roping event with his buddy Wade McNolty.”

Carey really has three personalities: the Sexy Hockey player, the Cowboy, and my favorite, the Funny Dork.  So I thought I’d break up the post into those three categories.

The Sexy Hockey Player

Let’s start out with some video, shall we?

Harry Rosen . Carey Price from Spot Cinema on Vimeo.

If that hasn’t gotten your knickers in a twist, I don’t know what will. And that belt buckle makes an appearance here later, don’t you worry.

The Funny Dork

Yay, more video! Here he pranks reporters:

….I hope all of  that IS ENOUGH for you people, because I’m exhausted ;D

I shall leave you with a video of Carey being funny, and awesome, and sexy at the 2012 All-Star Game, and say to you all , “Au revoir, jusqu’à la semaine prochaine, mes amis très sexy!”

(I don’t know how Lundqvist manages to get in on everyone else’s Sexy Saturday, but he is in this video right after Carey.  Just sayin’. If you want to keep watching. For more sexy goalie.)

Wings Clipped

Congratulations to all our Red Wings fans. The home winning streak ends at 23 (now we can both hate the Cannucks), but what an amazing ride. I don’t think anyone will ever beat that record — unless it ends up being The Wings themselves. Just a magical place to play. Felt sorry for Howard, tough to lose in a shutout. But there my sympathy ends. You did just beat my Sharks, after all!

Hi Everyone! You know what time it is…

Just squeaking by on time. Usually I don’t work Saturdays, so putting in a full day today really messed with my S.S. schedule.  So let’s hurry up and jump on in!

This week’s sexy choice comes to us courtesy of Nikki.  First game I went to with Nikki, she came strolling in wearing her Lightening jersey with this guy’s name on the back, and I knew she was seriously into him. Did I mention it was a Dallas Stars game?  Not that it matters. People are his fans, regardless of who he plays for.  And why wouldn’t they be?  He’s gorgeous, talented, and a super-nice-charity-do-gooder guy.  And his name is…..

Vitals: Born May 2, 1980, Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island, Canada.  6’0″, 198 lbs.  VERY RECENTLY SINGLE, ladies!

Nickname(s): Richie, Broadway Brad

Current team: New York Rangers. Alternate Captain, Center. Shoots left.

Fancy awards: 2004 World Cup of Hockey (Canada) Gold.  Stanley Cup 2004.  2004 Conn Smythe Trophy (Playoff MVP).   2004 Lady Byng Trophy (Sportsmanship).  2006 Winter Olympics (Canada) (failed to medal).  NHL All-Star 2011.

Cool trivia: Has been friends with Vincent Lecavalier since the age of 14, when they met at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, a boarding school with an excellent hockey program in Saskatchewan, Canada. He raises money for hospitals, kids with autism, and gives game tickets to military families.  Richards is also a well known wine aficionado and filmed a segment about wine tasting for

I don’t know how that last one slipped in there. ;D  But it is all kinds of hot.

And that concludes this edition of Sexy Saturday, hope you all enjoyed it. I know Brad (and Nikki) did.  See you next week!

In all the excitement over King Henrik’s shutout last night, I didn’t have time to post about another St. Valentine’s Day miracle taking place at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit — the Red Wings setting an NHL record for being the first team to record 21-straight home game wins. And like most young people, 21 is only the beginning of all the fun you can have!  There’s no telling where this home ice winning streak will end with the amazing season they are having, leading my Sharks in the Conference (though we are 4 games behind, just sayin — lol) while they’re at it.  It will be very exciting to watch how far they take this record.

Don't be shy, celebrate. (Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)

This post is for all my Wings ladies out there, I’m spreading the love your way. CONGRATULATIONS!!
